Taking Shape Exhibition 14 — 24 May
Taking Shape is a Melbourne Design Week exhibition that brings together over 20 Australian artists and designers. Presented by WRAP and Est., the exhibition reflects on circularity and contemporary design as an active part of daily life, something to inhabit, encounter, and negotiate.
‘Root to Stem’ A Zero-Waste Dining Experience with Johnny Hasan 22 & 23 May
Fri 22 May 6pm & 8:15pm & Sat 23 May 6pm & 8:15pm | Root to Stem is an intimate dining event set amidst the Taking Shape exhibition and is presented by WRAP and Chef Johnny Hasan, whose journey from Bangladesh to Melbourne’s hospitality scene, local schools and now new restaurant Patris, shaped a practice grounded in resourcefulness, respect and flavour.
Kids Workshop | ‘Illuminated Stories’ Lantern Painting with First Nations Artist Peter Hood 16 May
Sat 16 May 10am & 2pm | Light and mark making become language in this hands-on storytelling workshop for curious kids and their grown-ups with First Nations artist Peter Hood (Kurnai, Yorta Yorta).
Using paper lanterns provided by IKEA, participants will design and decorate their surface, sharing stories of family, imagination and belonging.
